Alex Rudzinski
Multicamera Director

Over the past decade Alex has set a precedent for directing and producing visually stunning and original live events.
Starting with Fox’s “Grease Live!” in 2016, for which he won two EMMY awards including "Outstanding Direction for a Variety Special", followed by “Hairspray Live!” (winning an EMMY for camerawork), “A Christmas Story live!” and the critically acclaimed “Jesus Christ Superstar Live!” for which he also won an Emmy. All are incredibly intricate 3 hour plus shows with thousands of scripted shots. Each moment executed with split second precision.
Alex is no stranger to big set piece live broadcasts. Whilst working at BBC Entertainment he was part of the original team that Launched “Strictly Come Dancing” before successfully taking the show to the USA. There, “Dancing with the Stars” has been ABC’s cornerstone entertainment brand for 20 years with Alex directing over 400 of the live shows.
This background in live performance continues to inspire much of his current work. As director / executive producer for NBC’s “World of Dance” with Jennifer Lopez and Amazon’s “Savage X Fenty” hybrid Music/Fashion shows created by and starring Rihanna.
More recently Alex has directed many of America’s key award shows including the MTV VMAs, ABC’s Country Music Awards (CMAs) and NBC’s Billboard Awards. He’s directed the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors for CBS for the last 3 years. In 2021 Alex helmed Global Citizen live in front of an audience of 70,000 in Central Park, New York - the center piece of a multinational set of concerts around the globe. Currently Alex is a producer and directing his second Primetime EMMY awards for this fall.
With a rich background in music and performance, Alex is one of the most experienced live multicamera directors in the country. On the vast majority of his projects he also acts as producer or executive producer. Showcasing technical, logistical and financial planning helps to better anchor the execution of his shows. Ultimately its Alex’s bold and unique visual direction that attracts artists and broadcasters coupled with his ability to collaborate closely with production teams.
